JOAO is invited at Landesbühnen Sachsen on December 14, 2023 – further dates in February 2024

TanzNetzDresden member Joao Pedro de Paula will be performing his choreography „Demise, because we waited“ at Landesbühnen Sachsen in December 2023 and February 2024. Further information on the dates and the production can now be found in today’s blog post.

The goal of Natalie Wagner, head choreographer of the Landesbühnen Sachen, who is also a member of TanzNetzDresden, is clear: she wants to connect the dance company of the Landesbühne Sachsen with guests from the independent dance scene as part of the „Choreographic Workshop – A Three-Part Evening“ series. Choreographers from Germany, Italy and Brazil will explore the ambiguous word „fall“ in two trios and a group choreography on the studio stage of the Landesbühne on the evening of December 14 and on February 4 and 10, 2024. From falling as a form of movement to „fall“, which can be understood here as the fall of life. It will be interesting to see the many ways in which fall studies can play a role in dance.

One of the contributions of the coming evenings will be the production „Demise, because we waited“ by Joao Pedro de Paula, about which the artist reveals the following in advance:

The piece was created within my exploration on the deterioration of verticality in the body, as a metaphor to the loss of clarity in our current practices of communication. In this work specifically, I am dealing with the topic of loss from procrastination, or the demise and falling apart that happens when one excuses themselves from clarification in a conversation. I created the choreography and sound design for the piece, and the costumes were created by Greta Wilhelm.

Tax cards for TanzNetzDresden members

TNDD members receive tax cards for all dance productions at the Landesbühnen Sachsen. Important: Tickets can only be ordered by telephone at the box office on 0351 89 54321 or by email at (not online).

If the ticket is purchased in good time, the ticket sent can also be used as a train ticket to Radebeul. Important: The original ticket must be shown in printed form at an inspection on the train or bus. A screenshot on the phone is not sufficient.
